Switzerland experienced the most intense heat-wave in almost 12 years in July 2015. The following article entitled appeared in the electronic version of the Newspaper “Tageswoche” of Basel, on the 21st of July; it was also appeared in the printed paper on the 24th of July. The article entitled “Abkühlung für den Backofen Basel” (Cooling the oven Basel), focuses on the potential of the URBANFLUXES project to support urban planning in climate change mitigation and adaptation activities, towards improving thermal comfort in Basel.
